Flashbae turns your photos into styled pictures. We collect only what that needs, we never sell your data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

No account

There is no sign-up. Your iPhone creates a random identifier, kept in your Keychain, that holds your credits and your saved photos. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.

Photos

Studio (filters and retouching) runs entirely on your device; those photos never leave it. AI looks send the photo you pick to our server, which passes it to Google's Gemini image model to make your result. We do not keep the photo you upload. The finished photo is stored so it appears in your Library, until you delete it or delete your data. Google processes images under its API terms and does not use them to train models.

Booth with a friend

When you shoot a booth together, the frames you take are uploaded so both phones can build the same strip, along with the quick waves and messages you send each other. They are kept with that booth and deleted when the host ends it, when you delete your data, or automatically 7 days after it was made. Live video and voice during a booth are streamed directly between the two of you in real time through our calling provider LiveKit; they are never recorded or stored, by us or by LiveKit.

Face data

The Beauty tools in Studio find the face in your photo using Apple's on-device face detection, so they know where eyes, nose and lips are. This happens only on your device, only while you edit, and the face information is never stored, sent to us or shared with anyone. It is not used to identify you.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Apple. We receive the transaction record Apple signs (and, through our purchase service RevenueCat, the same record) so we can add credits or unlock your plan. We never see your card details.

App usage

To improve the app we record how it is used โ€” which screens and looks are opened, taps, purchases started and photos made, and how fast the app loads โ€” and short screen recordings of app sessions, tied to your random identifier. Photos are blanked out in these recordings: your pictures and results never appear in them. Our analytics provider estimates your approximate location (city and country) from your IP address. We don't use any of this for advertising or share it with advertisers.

Questions when you start

When you first open the app we may ask your gender, age range and how you heard about Flashbae, and we note the region set on your phone. Every question can be skipped. The answers help us understand who uses the app; they are not used for advertising.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token and time zone so we can send you things like "your photo is ready" or new looks at a sensible hour. You can turn them off any time in Settings.

Who we share data with

Only service providers that run the app for us: Google (AI image generation and our database), Cloudflare (photo storage), RevenueCat (purchase records), PostHog (app usage analytics), LiveKit (live booth calls, never recorded) and Apple (push notifications). Each processes data only on our behalf. We never sell your data.

Keeping and deleting data

Your Library photos stay until you delete them. Settings โ†’ Delete my data removes your credits, your history, every photo we stored and your booths with friends (in a friend's booth, your frames and seat), immediately and for good.

Children

Flashbae is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
